After uninstalling and installing the full driver software numerous times I can't get anything to print from my computer. The print jobs just show Error Printing in the printer queue. Ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor and it also cannot print the test page.
I'm connecting wirelessly to the printer. The printer only works when printing from my phone or iPad.

Thank you for the detailed response. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:
Make sure the printer and the PC/Notebook is connected to the same network.
Try to access the EWS page of the printer from these devices to check the connectivity
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
- Type the IP address at the top of your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- If you get any security notification, click on show details/advanced and 'proceed to this website'.
- Try printing a test page.
Use HP Smart to print from the PC and the Notebook and check if that helps.

Also, have you tried installing Windows built-in driver and check if it prints?
Refer to this document to know how.
Keep me posted for further assistance.

@AMK11 Welcome to HP Community!
here's what I recommend you do:
I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and retry, follow the steps below:
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Then, Click here to access the HP website, find the drivers compatible with your windows and install it.
If the issue persists, please go ahead and install the windows built-in drivers:
If a full feature driver from HP is not available for your printer, you must install the built-in print driver. A full feature driver for one or more Windows versions is not available for your printer, either from the CD that shipped with your printer or from the HP website.
NOTE:
Where is the download button? The HP print driver is built into the Windows operating system or is installed through the Windows Update feature on your computer. You do not need to download anything from a website in order to print, scan, or fax.
See the Frequently asked questions in this document for additional information, including how to scan using this driver.

Hi,
I am experiencing the very same issue with a HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 with a wired network connection (static IP).
Test page print turns into an error and so does every other job.
Uninstalled/reinstalled full suite several times; only thing not done is deleting the driver.
Would the solution suggested above also work for a wired setup?
I already tried to an TCP/IP port but this messes the devices displayed completely up (duplicate icon for fax).
Look like it is related to the WSD port, but unable to troubleshoot.
Any other suggestion welcome.

Hi,
some additions to the above.
Removing the Norton firewall does not help, neither disabling anti-virus.
Scanning works perfectly.
The printer troubleshooter finds nothing and HP Print and Scan Doctor cannot send a test page print, but the option to have the printer generate a test page itself works! Next thing this tool suggests is to re-install drivers, which I did several times.
Again, everything looks fine, except for communications across the WSD port.
Out of options and not a clue how to proceed.
Kind regards, RMeijn

Hi,
something I forgot to try: printing from a tablet with HP Smart, which appears to work fine.
Another thing I forgot to mention is that both a PC and a laptop at home are experiencing the same issue.
Kind regards, RMeijn

Hi,
thanks for your prompt response.
First of all I would like to mention that I also tried to reset the printer: via the menu (by Restore Settings and also Restore Factory Defaults) and when that did not work I decided to reset (disconnect power and switch on with the ON/OFF button pushed for 30s), which also did not cure the issue.
Regarding your specific questions:
Printer, desktop (wired) and laptop (WiFi) are all on the same network; file transfer between desktop and laptop works fine, and the desktop allows me to visit the homepage of the printer via its static IP (192.168.0.103; associated with mac in the Router).
- IP printer: see above
- the EWS page works fine from my desktop, all functions are available and information is transmitted
- no notification or messages are encountered except for those from, for instance Word, when trying to print: 'Word cannot print due to a problem with the printer setup'.
- test page still does not print
HP Smart works fine: I can print all reports from this app.
When following your instructions to add the HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 and utilizing the TCP/IP option the printer adds and indeed a test page can be printed.
It does not seem to make a difference what driver I use (built-in or manufacturer).
However, there seems to be difference with the initial printer I installed: this displays a context menu (right-click) which does only contain printer functions but also scan functions, whilst with the printer added under TCP/IP, this is absent.
Nevertheless, printing seems to restored: thanks!
Yet, curious where the scan functions went ....
Kind regards, RMeijn
