Cannot print at all (including standard or internal test prints) plus showing error 'E'

I got HP Deskjet 4288 All-In-One Printer free of cost under HP Promotion when I purchased Hp pavilion slimline s3760in desktop pc in 2010 (I guess).

Hp solution center works well with adobe flash player, but adobe flash player has ended. Therefore, hp solution center is not working.

Right now, I had downloaded hp smart app from Microsoft store, but it is not finding my printer.

I had also downloaded hp print and doctor application and it is able to detect my printer but unable to print test paper or any document. Every time error "E" shows on my printer machine.

Scan function is working fine but Print function is not working.

Can anyone please help it out which is urgent.

Hi,

Your print drivers are provided via windows Update, the printer is older and not supported by the HP Smart app

.

Please follow Windows Update and look for any driver updates, also be sure to check for any optional update might be listed for your printer.

My windows update is up to date. Even my printer is showing in Printers & scanners.

but still, it is showing error E in my printer whenever I click on print any document or test paper.
