HP 2605dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP 2605dn.  From the menu, I have no problems printing status pages, supplies reports, etc.  I bought this printer from a friend because he did not need it.  Its power-up sequence looks good and comes up as Ready.

My machine runs Win10, 64bit.  I downloaded the most recent PCL drivers.  When I print, it shows the following:

1) Printing Document

2) 79 Error Please turn off and on printer

3) >>>>> (double greater than symbols)

4) Ready

It doesn't matter whether I'm connected by Ethernet or USB.

What do I need to do to fix this so I can use the printer?

Also, just you know, the most recent firmware is installed on the printer.  (20120413)

I understand that this firmware may be defective and will cause an error 79.  (Maybe my friend did an upgrade and did not tell me.)

Does anyone have the 20071108  firmware for hp 2605 DTN  Printer ?   (Windows utility version)   I could roll back to that version, assuming that doing so won't cause other problems.
