HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Base Model Tower PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I can't figure this out.  My very old but extremely reliable printer has stopped working when I changed to a new tower unit.  I'm running Win 10 64bit, same as I was before with 16GB of RAM.  All the checks I've done through Windows and HP show the printer as being there.

Steps I have taken are to unplug the machine and power it up again, change the printer cable to a new one which was working, check the paper (ok).

From where I'm sitting the problem seems to be that the jobs aren't spooling, not even test pages but services show the spooler in operation (I've also switched it off manually and restarted it).

My current belief is that my printer is ok, as is the cable.  The tower unit is ok too but I've got a software error somewhere.

Please cancel my request.  I have resolved the issue by deleting the printer from Printers and Settings, rebooting both power and USB and allowing Windows 10 to reinstall it again.  It looks like going back to basics is the answer in situations like this but it's been so long I'd forgotten.
