I have an HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301fdw printer that has worked fine since I bought it over a year ago.  All of a sudden, my HP laptop says it can't find the printer driver.  I uninstalled the printer and tried to reinstall.  The driver only loads to 96% for the printer option, and never proceeds to the scanner or fax options.  My husband can use the printer just fine.  Any ideas?

Remove all references to the HP printer.

Install the new driver and then search for the printer. You must have the full feature driver.
