HPLJ Pro P1102w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I re-initiated ePrint on my HPLJ Pro P1102w using the HP Smart web site.  All worked as expected except with customizing the printer's email address.  I had previously set up ePrint ON THE SAME printer several years earlier when the process was managed using the HP Connect web site instead of HP Smart.  I wanted to use the same email address with HP Smart as I had used with HP Connect.  However, HP Smart said that the old email address was already in use, and so I had to enter a different email address.  Since I am using the same printer, the Printer Claim Code for the new setup replaced the claim code for the earlier email address.  Therefore, I could not retrieve the old printer entry in order to delete the old printer/ email address entry.  Is there a way to get the old email address deleted so that I can re-use it with the  new ePrint setup?

Welcome to the HP Community.

A while back there used to be instructions for "reusing" an existing ePrint email address.

Last time I checked for someone (earlier this year??), I did not find the document / instructions to do so.

There were restrictions.  One of the requirements:  You have to have removed the "want to use" email address from one printer (while you still had access to that printer).  Very soon after removing the address from one printer, it could be moved to another printer.  Wait too long and the address would mysteriously "lock".

If you cannot find a way 'round the renaming process,

If you are willing to do so,

Simply change the address slightly and register that as a replacement.

I've had to do this several times over the years - now on someaddress3 @ hpeprint . com
