I cannot get the drivers and software I need to reinstall on my PC. Receiving a message, “We were unable to retrieve the list of drivers for your product. Please select the desired operating system and select “Update” to try again.”

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Disconnect printer/scanner from computer- Disable WLAN, WiFi and/or remove the USB or LAN cable.- Do not switch off the printer >> unplug the power cord from the socket!
The HP software must be completely uninstalled and removed of the system.
Restart the PC
First download only this complete package: "HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Print and Scan Driver and Accessories ",
Close all programs
Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads click on the Setup.
Via USB, means wait until the installation asks to connect the printer/scanner.
Document error messages accurately, even better is to take a screenshot of it and upload here.
