Please help!  Today I installed software for my MacBook Pro M4 from the HP EasyStart system over a USB cable connection.  After installing the print driver, and clicking the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125nw icon that shows up under Printers & Scanners in the System Settings, I see a screen as shown below.

Screenshot 2025-03-20 at 22.24.53.png

When hovering my mouse pointer over the icon in the upper right corner, I see the word "Scanner".  Clicking this icon brings up screen that says "No camera or scanner selected".  I see no way to invoke the scanner.

Printing the test page resulted in a sheet of paper saying "Printing is enabled".  How can I scan with my HP LaserJet Pro MRP M125nw scanner?  It used to work fine on my previous MacBook Pro running MacOS Monterey version 12.7.6.  Is there a newer version of the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125nw printer + scanner driver someone can point me to?  Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi @Aqua_temp

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It seems like your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125nw scanner isn't being recognized properly on macOS Sequoia 15.3.2.

Here are some steps to help resolve the issue:

Check for Updated Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website to download the latest drivers and software for your printer. Ensure you select macOS Sequoia as your operating system.

Enable the Scanner in System Preferences:

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your printer and ensure the scanner functionality is enabled. If it’s not listed, try re-adding the printer.

Use HP Easy Scan:

  • Download the HP Easy Scan app from the Mac App Store. This app is designed to work with HP scanners and might resolve the issue.

Reset the Printing System:

  • In System Settings > Printers & Scanners, right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list and select Reset Printing System.
  • Re-add your printer and check if the scanner is recognized.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates on the HP Support website.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
