Cant find driver

I have been doing this for 4 days. I even had them try remotely. This is a business and I haven't been able to use this printer!!! It says it cant find my printer when its on the WIFI! Then it says it cant find the driver. I even downloaded the Windows package and said it wont run on my computer after all the installs. I am over this and now they want me to email and who knows how long that will take.

Sounds frustrating!

Printers and networks and drivers are not always "plug and play" -- it should not take four days, I think.

I wonder if anything might have been missed.

If "them" is actual HP Support, then at least you have been talking to HP and not "Acme-Fly-by-Night" people who might just want to get into your computer and take what they can find.

• EWS sections might be locked and require the printer’s PIN number to access.  Find the printer’s default PIN inside the ink cartridge ink cartridge / area, or perhaps on the bottom or back of the printer.  Check your printer’s User Guide first chapter for details – search the document for “ PIN “.

The printer supports Wi-Fi Direct (no router limited wireless). 

Wi-Fi Direct uses the wireless radio in your printer to connect directly to the Wireless on your device (computer, tablet, phone).  While Wi-Fi Direct is useless for connecting the printer to the Internet (and, for example, Instant Ink or Cloud services), when it can be used, the limited connection does eliminate the chance that the issue is related to a weak, poorly located (perhaps too far away or even much too close), outdated, or incompletely configured, router.

Perhaps, after having connected the printer to the network using an assigned (manual / static) IP address, the printer software might be willing to install.

Reinstalling?

• Uninstall existing full driver printer software from Programs and Features. 
• After the software is uninstalled, Restart the computer and sign in

The Offline Use Only, Print and Scan Driver, or similarly named installation web packs can be used in either a network‑connected or USB‑connected environment.

The name of the installation file depends on the printer model and the type of packaging.

This method includes the printer software in the installation package; hence the much larger file size.

You need not answer questions about which driver or type of printer software to select and install.

Using USB?

Be sure to unplug the USB cable between the printer and the computer before loading the software. 

Re-connect the USB cable when instructed to do so, generally near the end of the successful installation of the printer software.
