Hi @Mark-Pytchley ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Smart Tank 7305 All-In-One printer is showing as offline despite being connected to both your laptop and Wi-Fi network, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

  • Restart Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart of both your computer and the printer can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off both devices, wait for a few minutes, and then turn them back on.
  • Check Network Connection: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can do this by printing a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel to verify the connection status.
  • HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP provides a free diagnostic tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor that can help diagnose and resolve printing problems. Download and run this tool to check for any issues with your printer setup.  HP Print and Scan Doctor
  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Firmware updates can often fix bugs and improve the printer's performance. You can usually update the firmware through the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Reinstall Printer Driver: Sometimes, reinstalling the printer driver can resolve offline issues. Go to the Devices and Printers section on your computer, remove the existing printer, and then reinstall it using the latest driver from the HP website or HP Smart app.
  • Check Printer Status in HP Smart App: Use the HP Smart app to check the printer status and ensure that it’s not set to offline mode unintentionally. Sometimes, you can manually set it back online from within the app.
  • Firewall and Security Software: Sometimes, firewall or security settings on your computer can interfere with the printer's connection. Temporarily disable these settings to see if it resolves the issue, but remember to re-enable them afterward for security purposes.
  • Reset Network Settings: If all else fails, you can try resetting the printer's network settings. Refer to your printer’s manual for instructions on how to reset network settings. After resetting, reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
