@atmoko, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Since you're using the HP Smart Tank 585 All-in-One Printer, and Print Anywhere is enabled, but you're still unable to print over the internet, here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
Verify HP Account Sign-In
Make sure:
- You're signed in to the same HP account on both the printer (via HP Smart app or printer setup) and the device you're printing from.
- The printer shows “Ready” or “Online” in the HP Smart app.
Check Internet Connectivity on the Printer
Even if “Print Anywhere” is enabled, it won’t work if:
- The printer isn’t connected to a stable internet connection.
- The printer goes into sleep mode or auto-off (some Smart Tank printers are aggressive with power saving).
Try:
- Restarting the printer.
- Reconnecting it to Wi-Fi using the HP Smart app or printer control panel.
Update Firmware
Check if there's a firmware update pending. Go to:
- HP Smart App > Printer Settings > Printer Update or Advanced Settings > Tools > Web Services > Update Firmware.
Enable Web Services
“Print Anywhere” won’t work without Web Services. Steps:
- On the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS): Access it by typing the printer's IP address in a browser.
- Go to the Web Services tab > Make sure it’s enabled.
- If it's stuck, try turning off and back on Web Services.
Disable “Require Private Pickup”
From your screenshot, “Require Private Pickup” is off — that’s good. If it's on, your print job will queue until you're physically near the printer.
Try Remote Print from HP Smart App
When remote:
- Open HP Smart app (on mobile or desktop).
- Choose the printer > Tap "Print Documents" or "Print Photos".
- If it says “Offline” or “Unavailable”, it indicates connection issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
