I just replaced the black cartrdge and it may not be seated properly (I think). Now the carriage is not moving leftwards to bring the color cartridges out so I can push the black cartridge in. I see only the pink and cyan come out. How can I pull the whole cartridge tray out? I tried opening the top cover but after opening 3 screws I could not pull it out further ...

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

MKazi is at your service.

I understand that you have an HP Photosmart 6525 e-All-in-One Printer and the black ink cartridge seems to not be seated correctly and therefore the carriage does not move. The carriage is stuck towards the left and therefore the cartridge cannot e accessed. I appreciate your efforts in troubleshooting this issue and have certainly done a good job.

You may try to push the carriage manually with your hand and check if it moves. If yes then you may access the black ink cartridge and remove it out.

In case the carriage does move when you try to move it with your hand then it confirms a hardware issue with the printer. Disassembling the printer may cause other issues with other internal parts and therefore we do not recommend it to try on your own. Instead, you may contact our HP phone support if the carriage does not move. The phone support team can let you know the available service options as per the warranty status:

HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:

  1. Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/
  2. 2) Click on “Continue as guest”.
  3. 3) Enter the serial of your device.
  4. 4) Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. 5) Click on “Show Options”.

Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

Hope this information helps. Feel free to let me know how it goes.

Good luck! 🙂
