I am an English person who retired to Spain.  My HP account Personal Information settings are set to 'Country or region: Spain' and 'Preferred language: English (UK)'.  Why are all my Instant Ink emails from HP written in Spanish?  Should I change my location to United Kingdom?

Hi @Anon53968456,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out, and I understand how frustrating it can be to receive Instant Ink emails in a language you don’t prefer.

Instant Ink communication is usually generated based on the service region where the printer is registered, not just the language selected in your HP account. Since your Instant Ink subscription is active in Spain, the system defaults to sending service-related emails in Spanish, even if your preferred language is set to English (UK).

📌 Should you change your location to the United Kingdom?

No, we do not recommend changing your account region unless you actually live and use the service in the UK. Instant Ink plans are region-specific, and changing the country could cause:

  • Service interruptions
  • Billing issues
  • Problems ordering ink shipments
