Hi @dee_ar-em1,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are trying to change the paper size from 5x7 to 8.5x11 on your HP ENVY Pro 6400 All-in-One Printer, follow these steps:
On Windows (through the HP Smart app or Printers & Scanners settings): HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
- Open the document you want to print.
- Go to File > Print.
- Select your HP ENVY Pro 6400 printer from the list of printers.
- Click on Printer Properties or Preferences (the exact wording may vary).
- Look for the Paper/Quality tab (or similar) and select it.
- In the Paper Size dropdown menu, select 8.5 x 11 inches (or "Letter").
- Click OK to save the changes and return to the print dialog.
- Now, click Print to start printing on 8.5x11 paper.
On Mac:
- Open the document you want to print.
- Go to File > Print.
- From the printer options, select your HP ENVY Pro 6400.
- Click on the Show Details button if necessary.
- In the Paper Size dropdown, choose 8.5 x 11 inches (or "Letter").
- Click Print.
Check the Printer’s Physical Paper Settings:
- Open the paper tray on the printer.
- Adjust the paper width guides to fit 8.5x11 paper.
- Ensure the paper is loaded correctly and that there is no paper jam or misalignment.
This should resolve the issue, and your printer should now print on 8.5x11 paper.
