How to make my deskjet 2600 accept cartridge 304?

I bought a hp deskjet 2600 series in the middle east. It needs the ink cartridge 123. BUT I can not buy this cartridge here. The same printer sold in Europe needs the ink cartridge 304. I can buy this cartridge here and in size it fits to my printer. Since it is the same printer only sold in different parts of the world I wonder if it is possible to overwrite the software on the printer to accept my 304 ink.

I have already tried the trick with switching off the printer in cartridge changing position for 1h and switch it on again - doesn't work.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand there seems to be an issue with the ink cartridges.

Appreciate you trying the steps. Don't worry, I'm here to help.

The cartridges purchased in Europe will not work with the printer as the printer was purchased in a different country. We need to do a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

You may send a private message to the HP Facebook Team for a faster response or you may also check your private message. I have sent you a private message with the steps to reset the printer.
