Hi,
For some strange reason, the printer I bought has changed its region to United States, whereas the cartridges I've been buying are Asia Pacific. Due to this, the printer is showing incompatible toner messages.

Hi @ntech-pk,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I'd be glad to help you. Please note that HP Printers use different ink cartridges in different regions, and to use the ink cartridges sold in the current region, we need to change the region settings on the printer.
I request you to please get back to me with the following information, so that I can help you change the region settings on the printer.
Do you still have the ink cartridges for both regions
Do you have a printer USB cable?
Which OS is on the PC? Is it Windows or Mac?
Do you have the printer's full feature software and drivers installed on your PC?
Hope this helps!

Hi Vikram,
Thanks for getting back.
Do you still have the ink cartridges for both regions - Unfortunately I threw the old ones out thinking that this will be an easy replacement, just like before.
Do you have a printer USB cable? Yes, I do. However, I'm currently using WiFi connection
Which OS is on the PC? Is it Windows or Mac? Windows
Do you have the printer's full feature software and drivers installed on your PC? I'm using HP Smart app right now.

Hi @ntech-pk,
I appreciate you confirming the details. Regarding the cartridges, the old region cartridges are required in most cases when performing a regionalization (country/region reset). They allow the printer to complete the region change successfully before you begin using cartridges from the new region.
Since the original cartridges have been discarded, we can certainly try using the new region cartridges to complete the process. However, I do want to set the expectation that this is not guaranteed to work, as the printer may still require the previous region cartridges depending on its current regionalization status.
I also noticed that you mentioned you're using HP Smart. Please note that HP Smart has been replaced by the HP App. I recommend uninstalling HP Smart from your Windows PC and installing the HP App instead. The HP App includes the latest printer management and setup features and is the recommended application for configuring and troubleshooting HP printers.
Once you've installed the HP App, connect the printer using the USB cable during the setup process rather than Wi-Fi. A USB connection often provides the most reliable communication when performing region resets or printer initialization. After the printer is successfully configured, you can switch it back to your Wi-Fi connection.
Once done, let me know so I can help with the next steps.
