I a trying to install my new Color LaserJet Pro M479fnw through my LAN network.
I have a few computers in my LAN network, they all installed the printer without any issues.
But only one computer is giving me headaches.
It sees the printer and installs it as a scanner.
In HP Smart I can see the printer and the ink levels, but installation status says not installed.
If I try to update the driver of the printer I get a 'element not found' message.
I have installed the entire driver and software package.
Under printer and scanners I see the printer/scanner, but there is a message (driver is not available).
It appears something is blocking me installing the correct driver.
I get it working as a WSD-scanner but it won't show up on the WSD-printing queue.
I have tried everything looked in the registry if anything was different from my other computers.
Help would be very welcome.

I have got this printer running on my computer now with a generic driver
First tried 'Generic Driver Text Only'. That worked, but could not print any pictures/fonts.
Now I replaced the driver with the MS Publisher driver, now I can print pictures as well.
Only problem is the printer has 2 papertrays and I cannot select papertrays with this driver.
The problem clearly is a corruption in the driverlist in Windows, but SFC and DISM don't pick it up.
I find this problem a lot while searcing the web, but there doesn't seem to be a good solution to delete drivers from the driverlist.

In case anyone is struggeling with this problem, here is what I came up with.
The original printerdriver I was trying to install was a V4 driver.
I managed to find the V3 driver on the HP website and installed that one.
The printer was not stable with this driver, so I installed the HP universal driver.
For me it is working now, just simple printing is all I need on this workplace.
