Color Laser Jet Managed E55040
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have two E55040s, they're both connected to different (but identical) PCs via USB (this is the only option). On one of the printers, I have the option to check or uncheck Auto Off after sleep, on the other there is no option, it's just on and the only thing I can do is change the time before it goes into deep sleep.

Printing out the current settings and one says Unchecked (the one with the option to check or uncheck) the other says Checked (but doesn't actually have the option to uncheck)

Same firmware and drivers on both. Is there a way to change settings some other way without going through the touchscreen? I've tried factory resets and hard resets (powering down and unplugging) neither has worked.

Thanks

You may need to connect the printer via network so you can easily access the EWS (embedded web server). It is much easier to find settings that way and some settings are only accessible that way.

at the moment, connecting the printer into the network isn't really an option. without doing that, is there anyway to access something like the EWS via the PC the printer is connected to by USB?

On Enterprise level products, no. Can you not connect a network cable directly between the printer and the computer and set a manual address on both? Any standard network cable will work, you do not require a cross-over cable as was needed years ago.
