My computer suddenly won't recognize my printer when I want to scan something. I was able to print normally. I uninstalled the printer and am attempting to reinstall it with HP Smart, but my computer doesn't recognize the printer as an available option. Do I need to factory reset the printer?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
- download only this software package: HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28/M29/M30a Printer Full Software Solution
- Switch off printer
- Uninstall the HP software, drivers, and apps used with HP printers
- Reboot system
