HP M1120

I would like to connect an old laser printer (HP M1120) to my MacBook Pro 2020, M1 chip, version 11.4. The printer only has a hardwire USB connection and theMacBook only has two thunderbolts connections available, I bought an Apple adapter, with the advice of the Apple store, and connected the printer to my computer.

The computer found the printer and had a driver available. However, after adding the printer I tried to print something but the printer does nothing. I removed the printer from computer and I tried downloading the specific HP drivers for the M1120, but after downloading, an error message came up saying “the volume does not meet the requirements for this update“. And finally, I downloaded an app entitled “HP assist” which was supposed to help with these types of issues, but the app can not find the printer’s connection via USB.

Help.
