Product: HP laserjet 1018

Goodm orning guys, I'm trying to connect the printer HP LaserJet 1018 to the router HG556a through the usb port. so that I can share it on my local net. I followed some instructions found on the web and I was able to install the printer on my PC but I can't print any document. the print page didn't print and i receive error

. What can I do?

 

PS: I used to test with HP desktjjet f2280, it's working.

Hi,

The Laserjet 1018 uses the Host-Based printing language, F2280 uses a completely different print language which is LIDIL.

 

The first thing to check is if the HG556a  Print Server supports Host-based printers at all, most print servers does not support Host-based printers.
