I bought the above printer a month ago and have been unable to connect it to my PC. Have contacted support,microsoft.com and after reinstalling Windows 10 and then clearing my hard disk, they told me that there is a software issue which HP are working on. Is this correct and when will it be fixed?
Have described the operating system as 32bit but it may be 64 bit - not sure where I will find out which

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums. Can you try the following:
Please Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR) tool to diagnose and fix your problem

If you need the software, this wizard will help you:

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Greenturtle
I have used the Print and Scan Doctor and I get a message saying the printer needs user intervention and after the test print, which initially did not work buthen did print, the Docotor says that this tool cannot solve the problem.
This is what microsoft have found but they said they thought HP were aware of a problem woth the connection software and were working on a solution. Is that the case?

Hi,
Can you try this:
Restore Printer Network Settings
Setting up the printer wirelessly using HP Auto Wireless Connect
The following is also useful:
Solve wireless problems
1. Make sure the printer is not connected to the network through an Ethernet cable
Wireless does not work if the printer is connected to the network through an Ethernet cable. Disconnect the
Ethernet cable from the printer.
2. Make sure the wireless light is turned on
If the blue light on the printer control panel is not lit, wireless might be turned off. To turn on wireless, touch
or swipe down the tab at the top of a screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch (Wireless), touch
(Settings). Touch Wireless Settings, and then touch Wireless to turn it on.
If the blue wireless light is blinking, it means the printer is not connected to a network. Use the Wireless Setup
Wizard available from the printer control panel to make a wireless connection. Touch or swipe down the tab at
the top of a screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch (Wireless), touch (Settings). Touch Wireless
Settings, touch Wireless Setup Wizard, and then follow the onscreen instructions.
3. Make sure the computer or the mobile device is connected to the wireless network
Make sure your computer or mobile device is connected to your wireless network. If you cannot connect the
computer to the network, contact the person who set up your network or the router manufacturer; there might
be a hardware issue with the router or computer.
4. Restart components of the wireless network
Turn off the router and the printer, and then turn them back on in this order: router first and then printer.
Sometimes, turning off devices and then turning them back on helps resolve network communication issues.
If you still cannot connect, turn off the router, the printer, and the computer, and then turn them back on in this
order: router first, then printer, and then computer
Still have problems? Visit the HP Wireless Printing Center (www.hp.com/go/wirelessprinting). This website
contains the most complete, up-to-date information about wireless printing, as well as information to help you
prepare your wireless network; solve problems when connecting the printer to the wireless network; and resolve
security software issues.
Note: If you are using a computer running Windows, you can use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool, which can help
solve many problems you might have with the printer. To download this tool, visit www.hp.com/go/tools.
Hope that helps.

What attention is required? Were the ink cartridges installed & the access door closed? Were the papers installed?
What error messages is the printer displaying?
Thanks.

Hi Thanks for the reply. Print cartiridges and paper all OK - the printer does work from our mobiles but is not comnnected to the PC. The only message is 'user intervention required' which is in a box in the bottom right hand corner of the PC and then 'Printer has a problem that requires your intervention'. Unfortunately nothing as helpful as what that proble is or how to solve it
