I would appreciate help on several related issues:
1. I've just joined this forum but it doesn't recognise my HP Pavilion 24 All In One pc (edited) Any idea why please?
2. I wish to connect my Canon PIXMA iX6550 printer, but the driver appears unavailable on line. I have the printer's driver on CD but currently no CD/DVD player.
3. I propose buying a Sony DVPSR760; is this compatible with the All In One pc, which does have HDMI in and out ports as well as USB ports. Sony information states that it is not primarily built for connecting to computers, (but I would be using it mainly with my TV as a monitor).
I'm depending on you lovely, and almost certainly younger, experts out there to help me be able to print again!

Hi @7271KX,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for reaching out, and welcome to the HP! We’re happy to help, and you’ve brought up some great questions. Let’s go through each one and clarify what’s possible on your HP Pavilion 24 All-in-One PC.
1. HP Forum Not Recognising Your Pavilion 24 AIO
This can happen for a few reasons:
- The forum’s lookup system does not automatically detect some HP product variants
- The product name you see on the chassis (like “HP Pavilion 24”) may be part of a larger model family, and the system needs the exact Product Number (P/N) to recognize it
2. Connecting Canon PIXMA iX6550 Without a CD Drive
You're right — many modern PCs don’t include CD/DVD drives, especially All-in-One units.
🟢 Good News: You don’t need the CD to install the printer.
🔽 Download the drivers directly from Canon’s support page:
- Select your operating system (e.g., Windows 11 or 10)
- Download the full driver package
- Run the installer and connect the printer via USB when prompted
If you're unable to find a compatible version, please let me know your Windows version, and I’ll help locate the exact file.
3. Using the Sony DVP-SR760 DVD Player with Your AIO PC
This is a very common point of confusion, and you’re right to ask.
Unfortunately, All-in-One PCs (like your Pavilion 24) do not support HDMI-IN for video playback, even if a port is physically present. These HDMI ports are for:
- Or in rare models, internal signal switching, not video input
🛑 You cannot connect a DVD player like the Sony DVP-SR760 to your All-in-One PC via HDMI and use the PC screen to view it.
🟡 Even if the HDMI-IN port exists, most HP AIOs do not support video input from external players.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
