I just bought a MacBook Pro running Sequoia 15 OS. I have the Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277 printer. I also have a 2021 Mac running the same OS. All three are connected to my WiFi. I connected the older Mac to the printer with a fixed IP address and it found the printer in its drop down list with a driver labeled 10.4. The Mac will print in color with all of the features available with the printer.
When I attempted the same thing to the new MacBook, I cannot find the specific printer on the drop down menu, and had to settle for a driver for PCL 4/5. I have attempted to download and use HP Easy Start but it said it "could not automatically find any software options and to contact HP website". HP website ultimately says the warranty on this printer has expired. When I open Printers and Scanners and open the information on the printer and click "Show Printer Web page", it sends me to a nice HP website with all sorts of specific information on my printer including IP address, status, cartridge ink remaining, and connection information that is correct to this installed printer.
What do I need to do to use all of the printing functions with this printer. I'd like to print in color sometimes. Thanks.
