I live in an apartment where we have wifi for the complex, and all devices are registered to the public network through our apartment website. I'm trying to set up a printer using HP Smart and it won't work because I don't have a wifi password to enter. I don't have a hotspot on my phone to use either. I tried registering the printer to the apartment website but it requested a MAC address that can seeemingly only be found when the printer is connected to wifi. My friend thinks the printer can't be registered or used on public wifi so I may have to return it. Any suggestions or ideas to get it connected?

Hi,
The printer supports WPA / WEB wireless security, it cannot connect to such a shared network with a WPA-Enterprise security authentication.
Be aware that the same applies for any consumer HP printer, such an authentication is not supported by the printer.
You may use Wi-Fi Direct and directly connect to the printer as a workaround, but you will not be able to connect the printer to such a network from cloud printing such as HP Plus or HP Instant Ink Services.
