Envy 5546 all in one printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have changed my Router for a new model and the Laptop to internet connection is fine but I cannot connect the printer to the network. It keeps reporting as off line and when I try adding the printer to the network via Control Panel- Add Device it asks for the WPS password? What is a WPS password? I've tried the router password of course but that doesn't work. Trouble shooting yields the useful information that it cannot find the problem and I should conact my systems administartor who ahppens to be me.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Please uninstall the drivers from the Computer.

I recommend you to use Wireless Setup Wizard to connect your Printer to the new router:

Use the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer control panel display to set up wireless communication. NOTE: Before you proceed, go through the list at Before you begin on page 58. 1. From the printer control panel, touch (Wireless). 2. Touch ( Settings ). 3. Touch Wireless Setup Wizard. 4. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

An alternative method could be to use the HP Smart App on the Computer: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04675142

Let me know if this helps.

Hi Betty,

I have, eneventually, fixed the connection before I received your very suggested solution. I arrived at solution by using Google and an enormous amount of time and patience neither of which do I have a lot of!

I note that you work for HP so I'm sorry but I have to give you my opinion of the product which has caused the problem.

I purchased the ENVY printer 2 years ago and I use it for home printing so it is not used very heavily. It has caused me a great deal of trouble and I do not understand why HP have failed to refine the product so that it is easy to use. I changed the Router so why does the driver sofware need changing? Yes the network SSID and password but surely not the driver. I had a recurrent problem with the thing refusing to print in colour. Again the driver had to be reloaded. Please sort the issues with the driver!

Regards
