HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My HP 9015e is connected to my home network and easily viewed on the WiFi network with my personal computers. I have a work laptop that is also connected to my home WiFi, but my company places restrictions on printing and requires a USB connection to a printer. I have been able to install the software, and the printer is recognized by the laptop via BT (which is technically disabled on the laptop, but I have a permitted USB BT dongle), and WiFi, but I get an error message after inputing the PIN. (Try adding your HP.... again, or check with the manufacturer for additional setup instructions.") When selecting the non-Wifi printer version, I was able to enter the PIN before getting that error message.

I used IT support to install the HP software and we got as far as connecting the laptop with a USB printer cable, but the printer was never recognized through the cable connection. I suppose the cable could be bad, but it has worked in the past.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

You can test the cable by using it with a different Printer or if you've a spare cable, try that and see if it works.

Also, you can have only one connection at a time configured from one computer. Either USB or Wi-Fi.

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the "Accept as solution" on my public post, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!

Thank you for the reply. The cable worked - but I had made a stupid user error. I got it to work. Thanks!
