Control panel lights blinking in sequence, green, yellow, blue, red.

Control panel is lit and little lights blink in sequence beneath the logo.  blue. yellow. red. green.  Pull down on screen and logo hides message  Alerts that says 'there are HPLOGO vailable, the HP logo hiding the message.   What's going on?  And, if it is 'updates' behind that logo, how do I do that?
