My printer has stopped working last night and is just flashing no paper, but when you put some paper in it is not been pulled down to start to print, it's like the loading wheel is jammed and if it do's pull it down it is pulling it inside ways , might be the feed wheel or something like that?

Check the paper stack for defects such as wrinkled, torn, or bent pieces that might cause a pick-up issue.

Remove any paper from the paper tray.

Remove any severely bent, wrinkled, or torn paper found in the stack.

Check for obstructions inside the paper tray. Make sure nothing blocks the paper from engaging with the rollers.

Make sure the paper stack is even on all sides.

Load the stack of paper into the paper tray.

Examples of loading paper
Close or push in the paper tray.

Select the correct paper size on the printer control panel or in the printer software.

Sean D, I’m sorry that your HP DeskJet 2820e printer is displaying a persistent “No Paper” error and failing to feed paper correctly—especially when you've already ruled out a jam. That must be incredibly frustrating when all you're trying to do is print something simple.

I understand that your printer flashes a paper error even when paper is properly loaded, and when it attempts to pull paper, the rollers either do not engage at all, or feed it sideways inconsistently. You've also mentioned your printer is still under warranty and you've had to cancel your ink subscription due to the problem.

From what you've described, it sounds like the printer’s paper feed mechanism—specifically the pick-up rollers or the alignment sensor—may not be functioning correctly. It could also be a firmware or calibration issue that's causing the printer to misinterpret the paper position and orientation.

Manually Clean the Paper Feed Rollers (Advanced):

Power off the printer and open the paper tray.

Locate the paper feed rollers (gray rubber rollers inside the tray path).

Lightly dampen a lint-free cloth with distilled water (not alcohol).

Gently wipe each roller while turning them manually to remove buildup or slick residue.

Allow rollers to dry completely before testing print again.

Check and Re-seat the Rear Access Door:

Open the rear access panel (if present on your model).

Inspect for anything stuck or misaligned behind the rollers.

Firmly close and re-seat the panel to make sure all mechanical components are engaged correctly.

Let us try to update the firmware.

Launch the HP Smart app on your computer. > Click on the image of your printer to open the settings and management tools.

Under "Advanced" or "Settings," click on "Advanced Settings" to open the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS).

From the EWS home page, click on the "Printer Update" tile. If you don't see this tile, go to "Tools" > "Printer Updates" > "Firmware Updates".

If prompted, enter the PIN from the printer label (usually found inside the cartridge access area) and click "Submit".

Click "Check Now" under "Check for Printer Updates." Any new updates will automatically install.

Important: Do not turn off the printer during a firmware update, as this can permanently damage your printer.

Hi @Wezbash

1.  Check the steps in the next video about paper jam:

2.  If you already did the steps in video and still having issues with paper jam,

then you should ask with HP Support to check some options for repair, because printer is not working.
