Welcome to the HP Community --

1) Cooing

Open HP ENVY 6000e All-in-One series - User Guide

Read the Specifications on Page 114

Section Environmental specifications

On the cooler end of the range is better than the warmer end for a busy printer.

If you think your printer is overheating, slow down the jobs or print some pages, then the rest.

2) HP Smart > Settings > Advanced Settings / Embedded Web Server (EWS)

The HP Smart app > Advanced Settings is the link to the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS).

If the printer is on your network, access EWS directly from your browser.

Reminder

Some browsers are more tolerant of internal addresses (like the one used for EWS) than other browsers.

If you cannot get through the browser's security regardless of what you do to it, use a different browser.

EWS > HP Document / How-to (At this writing, the document only describes details for the original EWS format)

Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

NOTE:  Find printer IP address

Section Open the EWS over a local network orientation

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Another Try...

====================================================

The old printer is not important unless you are trying to use the same IP address for the new printer (as you used for the old printer) and now the router cannot discard the old IP / Mac Address pair to accept and use the New IP / Mac Address pair.

This issue is rare but it can happen on some routers when you assign the same IP address to a new printer and that same IP address was used on the router with a previous printer.

If you don't know what this means, it is either not relevant (you don't need to know) OR you should log into your router and check how the router Wireless is configured.  If you don't know how to configure your router, read the router's user manual.  If that is not enough, get some help from a friend, family member, or colleague.

====================================================

Two ways to get to a networked printer's Embedded Web Server:

  • HP Smart > Settings > Advanced
  • Use your browser to open the printer's URL (local IP)

The printer must be on the network to open the Embedded Web Server.

  • This is true regardless of which method you use to open EWS (HP Smart or Browser).
  • If the printer is not on the network, then neither of these will work.

====================================================

Printer OK -- then "Not" OK

  • If the printer is on the network when you restart it, then the printer falls off the network, neither HP Smart or EWS will find the printer.
  • If there is any little thing not quite right, HP Smart might not open the Advanced / EWS page.  This is not important as long as the printer is connected to the network and you can open EWS using the browser method.

====================================================

If the printer won't stay on the network, there is a connection issue.

One possible source of the problem is related to how you connect the printer to the router.

The printer might not be able to run on the SSID named network to which you have connected it.

For example,

If the printer will not stay connected to the SSID named network for 5GHz,

then

Connect the printer the the SSID named network for 2.4GHz.

Example - Router - Dual band / Frequency SSID named networks

SSID_Dual_Band_Example_Router_1SSID_Dual_Band_Example_Router_1

If your printer won't stay on the network,

Nothing else will work correctly.

=====================================================

After you fix the network connection problem,

Use the browser method to open the Embedded Web Server.

EWS > HP Document / How-to

Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

NOTE:  Find printer IP address

Section Open the EWS over a local network orientation

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
