Hi @Penjor

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It’s incredibly frustrating when your trusted printer suddenly feels incompatible—especially when everything else works smoothly.

MacOS Sequoia 15.6.1 does not officially support dedicated HP LaserJet P1108 drivers, but you can still install and use the printer using Apple's built-in AirPrint or a generic driver workaround.

Let’s walk through how to get your HP LaserJet P1108 working on your MacBook Air running Sequoia 15.6.1.

Step-by-step workaround to install HP LaserJet P1108 on macOS Sequoia:

1. Check for AirPrint compatibility

While HP LaserJet P1108 doesn’t natively support AirPrint, macOS may still detect it as a generic printer.

  • Connect the printer via USB.
  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click the + button to add a printer.
  • If “HP LaserJet P1108” appears, select it.
  • Choose Generic PostScript Printer or Generic PCL Printer if prompted.

2. Use HP’s legacy driver workaround

HP does not list Sequoia 15.6.1 as a supported OS for this model, but you can try installing the older macOS driver manually.

  • Download the last available macOS driver from HP:
    HP LaserJet P1108 macOS Driver
  • Select macOS Catalina or Mojave from the dropdown (as Sequoia is not listed).
  • Download and install the HP Easy Start or HP Printer Driver v5.1.1 for macOS.

3. Manually add the printer using installed driver

After installing the legacy driver:

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click + to add a printer.
  • Select your HP LaserJet P1108.
  • Choose the installed HP driver from the “Use” dropdown.
