Product: OfficeJet Pro 6978
Operating System: macOS 10.14 Mojave

I responded to a HP email identifying a critical update for my printer.  I downloaded the update but when run received a message that there was no update for my device.  Selected the "all updates" for my device and was directed to an HP OOPS! page saying not found.

 

The update is described as "Description: This Firmware update is to improve User experience".

Thanks for clarifying.

 

You have got this error as you already had this latest firmware installed automatically, this is the same version you were trying to install (2049A), therefore the error was shown:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-officejet-pro-6970-all-in-one-printer-...

Please click the Help mark (?) on your printer and select Product Infroamtion.

 

What exact Firmware Version is listed for your printer?
