I just bought a brand new HP OfficeJet Pro 9122e. I came home to set it up.

The first error message that appeared was the blue ink (C) was not detected. I removed it and then reinstalled it many times and the problem was not solved. I removed it again, then installed it and tried to restart the printer but now I got the message

"Printer error occurred F0.02.05.14 : A critical system error has occurred. Restart the printer and try again. If the problem persists, contact your support representative.

FW Version :

6.15.0.2103-202309210822"

I unplugged the printer many times and restarted it but still getting the same error message.

Please help me! how can I fix it? Do I return it to the seller?

Welcome to the HP English Community --

I'd not return the printer -- it does need some help to get past the buggy bits.

What?

The hardware is very likely good and fine - nice printer.

You are not the only one to run across this issue, in fact.

Try what is posted in section later in this message titled "Clear the F0.xx error"

What if?

If that does not work, contact HP Support - ask that they provide the instructions for a deep / semi-full reset.

What?  We - "Not HP" people - cannot hand out instructions that have the potential  to harm the printer.

OR

Can't stand it - you don't want to try to clear the issue yourself?

Go ahead and contact HP Support.

Clear the F0.xx error

The issue has been reported -- HP is aware of the issue.

I've not yet seen any definitive answer - Check your printer model support website Alerts.

For those reading - the issue appears related to F0.xx errors that surface in the EWS Event Log

Symptoms vary from annoying to loss of control over the printer - no shutdown, no boot, no EWS access

Sample of F0.xx error messages in EWS

EWS_9135_General_Event_Log_F0_Firmware_Error_1EWS_9135_General_Event_Log_F0_Firmware_Error_1

First, If the printer is unresponsive, use the following to regain control of the printer and EWS.

Add the steps to remove the ink cartridges and press / hold power button to the Power Reset steps

Remove ink cartridges

Unplug the power cord from both printer and wall outlet

Press and hold power button for about 15 seconds or a bit more

Release power button

Wait for 30 seconds or more

Note:  If freaked out by constant fighting with it, leave printer sitting (unplugged) for  a minute.

Reconnect the printer -- Plug power into standard wall outlet (no surge protector for this)

Reinsert ink cartridges

Wait for printer to boot completely - takes a while - maybe one or two minutes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next, Restore the printer to Factory Defaults

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Section General > Restore Default Settings > Restore All Factory Defaults

Open EWS - Restore Printer to All Factory Defaults

thank you for you reply and the solution.

My problem is that the printer is freezed on this error message.
I can’t go to the menu or the control panel to try your steps. The power button is also not working. I can only press restart. I restart the printer and I get the same error again and again.
This happened during the setup. And the setup was not fully completed so I am not able to find the IP of my printer to try again your steps.
Please find the picture attached!
I know it is something related to the internet connectivity.
do you think if I connect my printer to my router with the ethernet cable, it can work ?

@mellsazi

You are welcome.

I am sorry you cannot regain control of the printer long enough to try the solution.

An IP address is only available when the printer is connected to the network.

That's how IP addresses work.

EWS is available when the printer can be reached on the network.

" I know it is something related to the internet connectivity. "

You could be right, of course -- what fixed my setup is not necessarily what is needed in your situation.

The success I had was due in part to the printer recovering long enough after the hard restart (unplug) to initiate the Restore Factory Settings.

In fact, in my case, the Restore was enough to help set things right.

If you want to try again, the printer must be allowed to be on your network - Ethernet is fine.

If you get that far, that is, you can initiate the Restore to Factory and the printer clears the settings, perhaps follow up with another hard restart - unplug the printer while on - Press / hold the power button for 20 seconds - release.  Plug in printer.

Had I not been able to regain control long enough to use EWS to initiate the Restore, the printer would have needed a deeper reset.

True - until the the underlying cause of the error is cleared, it will return again and again.

True, too, that the printer might need a deeper reset.
