HP DeskJet 2622 All-in-One Printer

Had to do the setup all over again due to issues, now the printer asks for a password to the printer web interface whenever i try to run the setup again. I forgot the password i used back when I first ran the setup for this printer. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi @returner_27,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've forgotten the custom password for your HP DeskJet 2622 All-in-One Printer's web interface, here are a few steps you can take to reset or bypass it.

Try Default Passwords:

  • Many HP printers use default passwords. Try common defaults like:
    • admin
    • 1234
    • password

Reset the Printer to Factory Settings:

  • If you cannot remember the password, you may need to reset the printer to its factory settings. This will erase all custom settings, including the password:
    1. Turn on the printer.
    2. On the printer's control panel, go to Setup (gear icon).
    3. Navigate to Tools or Preferences.
    4. Select Restore Factory Defaults or Reset All Settings. Follow the prompts to confirm the reset.

Re-run the Setup:

  • After resetting, re-run the setup process. This should allow you to create a new password for the web interface.

Access Printer Web Interface:

  • Once the printer is reset and set up again, access the printer's web interface using its IP address in a web browser. You can find the IP address on the printer's control panel under Network Settings.

HP Smart App:

  • Alternatively, you can use the HP Smart app to manage the printer settings and possibly bypass the need for the web interface password.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
