Had to do the setup all over again due to issues, now the printer asks for a password to the printer web interface whenever i try to run the setup again. I forgot the password i used back when I first ran the setup for this printer. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi @returner_27,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've forgotten the custom password for your HP DeskJet 2622 All-in-One Printer's web interface, here are a few steps you can take to reset or bypass it.
Try Default Passwords:
- Many HP printers use default passwords. Try common defaults like:
- admin
- 1234
- password
Reset the Printer to Factory Settings:
- If you cannot remember the password, you may need to reset the printer to its factory settings. This will erase all custom settings, including the password:
- Turn on the printer.
- On the printer's control panel, go to Setup (gear icon).
- Navigate to Tools or Preferences.
- Select Restore Factory Defaults or Reset All Settings. Follow the prompts to confirm the reset.
Re-run the Setup:
- After resetting, re-run the setup process. This should allow you to create a new password for the web interface.
Access Printer Web Interface:
- Once the printer is reset and set up again, access the printer's web interface using its IP address in a web browser. You can find the IP address on the printer's control panel under Network Settings.
HP Smart App:
- Alternatively, you can use the HP Smart app to manage the printer settings and possibly bypass the need for the web interface password.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
