I added extra security by setting the admin password, but it doesn't allow me in anymore. I do know the custom admin password that I used, but it says "Incorrect password".

Now resetting to factory defaults also doesn't work, the PIN (on the inside of the printer) doesn't allow me to reset.

I am able to reset the WiFi settings, but that doesn't reset the custom admin password.

Result: the printer works, but (nearly) all EWS features are now locked "by the administrator".

Problem 1. HP lets me add an admin password, but doesn't recognize that. I used 20 letters (capitals + non-capitals). Was it too long?

Problem 2. Alle the manuals telling how to reset the printer tell me to use the PIN, but that doesn't work.

Please help

I was assisted by HP support and it appeared that the admin password can't handle a password length larger than 8.

Furthermore, I was told how to do a real factory reset for my Envy 6420e, so now I use a smaller admin password.
