I am trying to re setup my printer and keeps asking for a custom password which I've forgotten what it was set to.

Please help

After spending hours trying to fix this bug, which HP will not admit to, I took the easy route - HP Smart is now off my  PC and all other devices.  Windows apps and other IOS apps work better, faster, and more reliably.
