DJ3630
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The Windows 10 full functionality driver for the DJ3630 that should be downloadable from here:  https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-3630-all-in-one-printer-series/7172306 just gives an Error 404 - file not found.  This seems incorrect.  Can anyone help please as I could use the basic driver in Windows 10 but would like access to the superior HP scan software that I use to be able to access and have on other machines.  The DJ3630 is a current product so I don't see why there should be a problem.  Many thanks.

Hang in there -- there is something "going on" -- HP is working on resolving the problem.

Try this driver:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/DJ3630/DJ3630_61.exe

Thanks Dragon-Fur for that assistance.  Through sheer bad luck it turns out that the driver I wanted was being updated precisely on the day that I wanted to download it!  It has now reappeared and I have been able to install it.

I have one question, however.  I should like to have the Scan icon pinned to the W10 task bar rather than only being accessible via a generalised DJ3630 dialogue which is tedious and slow.  Do you know wheher this is possible?

Kind regards

Chris

Youi are welcome.  "Timing is everything."  Smiling.

I am glad the issue is resolved.

Second Question - Answer

Yes, you can create a shortcut to HP Scan.

If you wish, you can (also) add the shortcut to the Taskbar and / or PIN the program to your Start (Windows key).

HP Scan – Create Shortcut on Desktop

Method - Create Shortcut using "location" of the executable

Open File Explorer

Navigate to the location of the HP Scan executable

Right-Click on the software (program .exe file)

Send to > Desktop (create a shortcut)

Example:

Path:  C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP OfficeJet Pro 8740\bin

Right-Click on HPScan.exe > Send to > Desktop

HP_Scan_Shortcut_1HP_Scan_Shortcut_1

Method - Create Shortcut using target path

Right-Click on a clear area on your Desktop > New > Shortcut

• Select (type) the target path (that is, the command) for your new shortcut:

Example (Enter all on one line, including the quotes as shown, replacing the example printer model with your printer)

" C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP OfficeJet Pro 8740\bin\HPScan.exe"

• Tab General > Remove original name and type a custom name for your shortcut, for example, Scanner Monet

8740_Scan_Shortcut_Desktop8740_Scan_Shortcut_Desktop

"Extra Credit" - Printer Assistant shortcut icon on the Desktop - "Run as Administrator"
