Hi @Asdf757,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP LaserJet M1005 Multifunction Printer driver not being installed properly!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Connections

Ensure the printer is powered ON and connected to the computer via USB cable.

Try a different USB port on the PC (preferably on the back of the desktop/laptop).

Remove Old/Corrupted Driver

Press Windows + R, type control printers, and press Enter.

Right-click your HP LaserJet M1005 → Remove device.

Go to Device Manager > Printers/Other devices, right-click the M1005, and uninstall it if shown.

Restart your PC.

Download the Correct Driver

Go to the official HP Support page for M1005.

Enter your printer model → Select your Windows version.

Download the Full Feature Software and Driver package.

Install the Driver

Disconnect the printer’s USB cable from the PC.

Run the driver installer you downloaded.

Only connect the printer USB when prompted during installation.

Windows Update (Optional)

Go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.

Sometimes Windows can auto-install the correct driver.

Check the printer in Devices & Printers

After installation, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

Make sure HP LaserJet M1005 is listed and set as the default printer.

Print a Test Page

Right-click the printer → Printer properties → Print Test Page.

I hope this helps.
