DeskJet 3830
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

On initial install of the printer, using the supplied desk, computer worked fine.  However after installing the latest HP software update, the printer will not connect to computer with USB.  I have tried all of the suggested possible corrections, but still unable to make USB connection with printer!

@CerroGordo, welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out.

I understand that you are unable to connect to the computer after a software update.

Don't worry as I have a few steps that should help fix this issue.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the links below:

1. Uninstalling the Printer Software (Windows)

2. Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver

3. Using the HP Scan and Capture App (Windows 8 and 10)

Let me know how that works.

I hope you have a good day ahead.
