Hello, I have trying for hours to get my HP 9125e to "install" properly on Windows OS after an update and modem / router reset.
It seems the problem is that the old ( HP 6600 )driver will not fully uninstall. I have chased this thing to it's location in system32 directory and even manually uninstalled the driver file ( it no longer exists on C drive)-- BUT it remains in the list of Print Server drivers in the windows command-line print utility. When I try remove it, I get a message: "Unable to remove HP Officejet 6600, x64, Type 3 - User Mode Driver The specified printer driver is currently in use."
The old 6600 went into the trash 3 months ago, so it is not communicating with my computer or the new printer.
I removed the old printer from "Printers & Scanners" hours ago and restarted multiple times, restarted the network, the new printer, etc-- multiple times.
Anyone else have any insight on this problem?
Thank you very much

Here are the steps to completely remove an HP printer driver from your Windows operating system:
Stop Print Spooler Service:

- Type net stop spooler and press Enter.
Delete Printer Driver:
- Open the Print Management console by typing printmanagement.msc in the Run dialog (press Windows key + R).
- In the Print Management console, navigate to 'Drivers' under the 'Print Servers' section.
- Find the HP 6600 driver in the list.
- Right-click the driver and select 'Remove Driver Package'.
Remove Registry Entries:
- Open the Registry Editor by typing regedit in the Run dialog (press Windows key + R).
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Drivers\Version-3\ (or Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3\ for 32-bit systems).
- Locate and delete the key corresponding to the HP 6600 printer driver.
Clean Up Remaining Files:
- Ensure no remaining files related to the driver exist in the following directories:
- C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64 or x86
- C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
- C:\Windows\System32\spool\SERVICES
Restart Print Spooler Service:
- Open a Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Type net start spooler and press Enter.
Hope this helps!

Windows is till trying to call up the HP 6600 driver during startup. I am getting the RunDll error message:
"There was a problem starting C:\Program Files\HP\HP Officejet 6600\bin\HPStatusBL.dll"
Of course that driver no longer exists in that folder.
I have followed all of these steps- deleting every file that is named "6600" from the registry folders listed, also from the System32 directory folders.
I ran "printui.exe /s" and made sure that there were no "HP 6600" or similar driver packages under the drivers tab. ( I do not have the Print Management Console because I am still running Windows 10 Home Edition, but this essentially accomplishes the same task as using the Print Management Console)
Thank you
