I am trying to delete an email address from my HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 printer.  I cannot request a new PIN as the reminder goes to an email address that I no longer have access to (former work email now closed when I left the company).

Hi @PB_Suffolk,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to remove a specific email address from the HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 without access to the associated PIN can be tricky.

Here are a few options depending on your comfort level and urgency:

1: Remove all web services and reconfigure Scan to Email:

  1. This method removes all email addresses associated with your printer, not just the unwanted one.
  2. On your printer control panel, locate the HP ePrint icon and tap it.
  3. Tap the gear icon or settings button and select Remove Web Services. Confirm the prompt.
  4. Open the Scan to Email app follow the steps to re-enable web services and re-register the app with your desired new email address.

2: Reset the printer to factory defaults:

  1. Warning: This option will erase all your printer settings, including network settings, saved scans, and address book entries.
  2. Make sure you have your network credentials (Wi-Fi password, etc.) handy before proceeding.
  3. On your printer control panel, navigate to Setup > Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults. Confirm the prompt.
  4. Once the reset is complete, reconfigure your printer settings and reconnect to your network.
  5. Set up Scan to Email again with your desired new email address.
  • Access Printer Settings: On the printer's control panel, navigate to the settings menu. The exact steps may vary slightly depending on the printer model, but usually, there should be a settings or setup option accessible from the printer's main menu.
  • Network Settings: Look for the section related to network or connectivity settings. In this section, you should find options for managing email addresses and other network-related configurations.
  • Email Settings: Within the network settings menu, there should be an option specifically for managing email settings. You might find options to add, edit, or delete email addresses associated with the printer.
  • Delete Unwanted Email Address: Locate the unwanted email address from the list of configured email addresses and select the option to delete or remove it from the printer's memory.
  • Confirm Deletion: Follow the prompts to confirm the deletion of the unwanted email address. This may involve pressing a button or selecting "Yes" to confirm the action.
