What you do depends on where you are trying to remove the printer.

 

In general, a few of the same things you do to recycle or donate a printer apply to no longer having the printer in your possession.

 

Printer Recycle, Donation / Donate, or Sale

Prepare an HP printer for recycling or resale

 

If you've not done so,

Remove / Uninstall the printer software and applications from your device(s).

 

This includes, for example, uninstalling the printer software from Windows > Programs and Features

 

Removing a printing / scanning application depends on the device, too.

For example,

The HP Smart print / scan application can be uninstalled in Windows

Settings > Apps > Apps and Features (Windows 10) or Installed Apps (Windows 11
