Product: DeskJet 310
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an old but fully functional portable HP DeskJet 310 printer.

Is there any way I can get this to work with my HP Laptop that operates on Windows 10 64-bit?

@nigelowen, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

This is an obsolete unit. Support options are limited.

There is no printer driver available for this model printer. However, try to install the printer using Windows built-in driver

Refer to this document to know how. Try printing.

If this printer model is not found in the list, try the Deskjet 990c driver.

Hi Kumar0307:

Thank you for trying to help.  It doesn't look as though the printer driver for the DeskJet 990C is Windows 10 compatible either as I can not download the driver from the HP website.

It seems such a shame that I may end up having to throw away my lovely DeskJet 310 portable printer that has served me so well over the years.

You cannot download the driver as it is not available. Hence, I mentioned installing the printer using the Windows built-in driver. Kindly follow the steps mentioned in my previous post.

Thank you for your continued help.  I have refreshed the printer lists using Windows Update, the DeskJet 990c is not shown in the listings of HP printers.

That's unfortunate. In that case, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

I thank you for your continued help despite us not finding a resolution.

It seems such a shame to thow away my trusty portable DeskJet 310 - it has been great to use with my laptop when we are away on holiday travelling in our motorhome.
