DeskJet Ink Advantage 2335
iOS

Hi HP team,

I have a DeskJet Ink Advantage 2335 connected via USB (no Wi-Fi). Since updating to macOS 15.5, I haven’t been able to install working software or drivers.

  • The printer itself works — it prints test pages fine

  • macOS shows it as “idle” but won’t print anything

  • HP Smart and Easy Start don’t detect or install correctly

  • I’ve tried everything — no luck

Upon looking in community it appears this issue has been happening since last year? when will it be fixed please, my printer is currently useless. Need driver update for macOS 15.5 ASAP please.

Hi @JO444441,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding issues with your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2335 printer on macOS 15.5!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check for Driver Updates: Ensure that you have the latest HP printer drivers compatible with macOS 15.5. Visit the HP Support Page and check for any available driver updates for your printer model and macOS version.

Reinstall HP Software: Uninstall current printer software, HP Smart, or HP Easy Start that might not be functioning correctly. Download the latest version compatible with macOS 15.5 from the HP website and reinstall it.

System Preferences Configuration: In macOS, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, and remove the printer. Re-add the printer using Add (+) and select 'Add Printer or Scanner'. This might help macOS recognize and configure the printer correctly.

Reset the Printing System: In the Printers & Scanners section, right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list and select Reset Printing System. This removes all printers and clears settings, allowing you to start fresh.

Use Generic PostScript / PCL Drivers: As a temporary solution, adding the printer with a generic PostScript or PCL driver might allow basic printing functionality.

Check USB Connection: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected and functioning properly. Try using a different USB port or cable if you suspect an issue with the physical connection.

I hope this helps.
