Can I get driver for an old HP DeskJet 895Cxi to work on an old iMac running OSX 10.4.11?

If so, how do I download the software to my Mac ?

Hi,

This is a retired product, meaning that there are no drivers or any support content available any longer at hp.com:

You may try the 3rd party GutenPrint driver and see if that work, Gutenprint 5.0.2  is the latest version to support Tiger (10.4) and, select the Deskjet 895C model by following their documentation to install it:

Thanks, I know it's all (very) old, and now is probably the time to update everything.

The old Mac does in fact send stuff to the printer, and print it, so I must have some residual driver still installed.

i.e. the combination system does actually work!

What I was really after was a sort of 'toolbox' to generate a test page, because I think the colour is off. Could be the cartridge I suppose, but I have tried two. I have a working laser printer for normal internet printing and the HP DeskJet was for photos etc on photo paper. Other manufacturers were very wasteful, and therefore expensive, with their ink.
