I have an HP Deskjet 3512 connected via USB 2.0 cable to a computer running Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3, and am experiencing problems printing to the printer, displaying the printer's printer properties, and applications crashing when selecting or checking the printer. I request assistance to resolve these problems.
Detailed description of Problem Manifestations:
Checking printer properties or trying to access printer properties via various means, results in the error message:
"Function address 0x7002230c caused a protection fault. (exception code 0xc0000005)
Some or all property page(s) may not be displayed."
When trying to view the printer properties via selecting "Properties" from the printer (named "HP Deskjet 3510 series") in the Printers and Faxes window, the following dialog box is displayed once and printer properties pages are not displayed at all:
For reference below, the printer software has the following main window:
When clicking the "Set Preferences" tile, the following error is displayed, then displayed once again after selecting OK or via ESC, and is followed by the print properties:
When clicking the "Customize Your Printer" tile, the same error, as previously indicated for the "Set Preferences" tile, is displayed once, but without anything else after selecting OK or via ESC.
When trying to select or check the selected printer from a software program other than HP's HP Deskjet 3510 series Toolbox software, the program crashes. This is especially problematic when the printer is set as default; the program oftentimes crashes soon after launching. For example, Microsoft Word 2000 SR-1 with SP3 crashes and provides the following information:
Things I have tried to resolve the problem:
Reinstalling the driver/software package. I have, multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled the driver software package, but the problematic behavior is unchanged. After normal uninstalls, I removed any remnants that the uninstaller did not remove.
Search for an older version of the driver/software to try. I attempted to find and install an older driver/software package back could not find any.
Other notes:
I am using the latest driver/software provided by Hewlett-Packard website and described and available at:
Basic Driver 28.8

The Printer Firmware version is: GWP1FN1608AR
The operating system has the latest system updates applied (updates through April 2019 plus the May 2019 released update).
Scanning seems to function correctly.
Printing a Diagnostic Page via the HP Deskjet 3510 series Toolbox software is successful.

Hello good I was investigating and can be 3 things one is that I have a virus or malware, second may be that some update is causing that problem, third some registry damaged or modified. I'm sorry my answer didn't help you. Try this first solution https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPfbgBOUXiI, I'll leave you other options https://www.iobit.com/en/driver-booster.php, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXL0q_9_hBE, are programs for installing or updating drivers. the program malwarebytes serves you to detect malware which disable your antivirus and have different ways to access your computer to damage it https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/ , 360 total security is an antivirus that does not slow down your computer at all. It is very simple and fast, has different tools and is more effective than other antivirus https://www.360totalsecurity.com , Ccleaner serves you to clean your junk files, bad records and remove crawlers from your browser, download the professional version even if your days of testing are over you can still use it https://www.ccleaner.com/es-es/ccleaner, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3SedNVf3H4
