I recently got a new modem/router from Spectrum and had to acquaint my wireless printer with the new wireless network stuff.  I insert the software cd, go through all the steps as if I'm setting up a new printer and everything looks good.  It finds the new network with its correct name.  It then asks for the wireless password.  I enter the CORRECT password and it comes up saying that it can't connect because the password is incorrect.  I have tried this 5X and get the same result.  I know that it's the correct password because I had to use it to re-connect my laptop, ipad, and iphone to the new network.  Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

Please note: The HP e-All-in-One only supports connections using 2.4GHz. Do make sure your Router is on that.

Let's reset the Printers network settings:

1. Press the Wireless button to access the Wireless Settings menu. 2. Select Restore to Default. 3. Confirm selection to restore defaults.

Post this, restart the Router, Printer and the Computer in this sequence.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks!

Have a great day!

Hi Betty0610

It is a 2 gig router. I did the restore factory settings.  I restarted everything in the order you said and then inserted the factory cd into my laptop and went through the setup routine.  No go.  Same as before: finds the correct network, but after I enter the password it churns for a while and comes up and says "incorrect password".  Crazy!

Make sure this is the password you're entering.

View your password from any Windows computer that is already connected to your network.

  1. Right-click the wireless network tray icon  , and then select Open Network and Sharing Center.

Open Network and Sharing Center selection with wireless network task tray icon highlighted

  2. Select Change Adapter Settings.

  3. Right-click the name of your wireless network, and then click Status.

  4. Click Wireless Properties.

  5. Click the Security tab, and then select the Show characters check box to see the wireless network security key (your password).

Let me know 🙂
