I have a brand new Deskjet 4155e and i am following the HP smart set up instructions wirelessly. I ahve a mesh network in my house and i put it on 2.4 mode only. the app errors out everytime it tries to connect the printer to the network (the third step in the cycle). It stops after it hits the "Joining the network section and says can't connect the printer to wifi. I have tried resetting my modem and my mesh system and the error still occurs. Anyone have any ideas?

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are getting printer connectivity issues, follow these steps to fix the issue.
Check with your Internet service provider if your router is able to forward 'Bonjour packets'. Bonjour locates devices such as printers, other computers, and the services that those devices offer on a local network using multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) service records. The software comes built-in with Apple's macOS and iOS operating systems.
Meanwhile, uninstall the HP Smart app and reinstall it
Follow these steps to delete the HP Smart app:- Go to Users/Username/Library/Application Support/HP Smart.
Then delete HP Smart from the Applications folder and reinstall from the Mac App Store.
Download and install the HP Smart app again
Here are the steps:- Click here
Let me know how it goes.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
Cheers.

Did the same thing to me today. 9 hours later I gave up. It never entered stage 3 based on the download window. Later, I went back and tried to scan and it worked. No idea why other than to say I have found this to be typical with HP "downloads". Not doing this again.
