My new Deskjet 5275 works perfectly except that if I turn off its WiFi from its menu the WiFi indication light turns off but the printer its still emitting its WiFi signal - and other WiFi devices can still connect to it. My connection between my computer is by USB cable and I want the WiFi to be really off. This seems to be a firmware bug. Is there any solution ?

I have now found out how to turn off the WiFi Direct - and am surprised that HP support did not provide the solution.
On the HP 5275 the menu system on the printer does not give access to the settings for WiFi Direct.
I neeeded to open the HP Smart application on my PC (which is connected to the printer using a USB connection) and select the Printer Settings option.
I then needed to select the Advanced Settings option from the left side menu which then opens a screen where WiFi Direct settings can be changed.
Then by selecting Edit Settings the WiFi Direct can be switched off (although this task takes ages to complete).
Surely the Menu System on the printer itself should give access to this selection - as was the case with the 4000 series.

Welcome to HP Community
I have gone through your Post and would like to help
Please try these steps
- Turn on the printer.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- Disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the printer. If your printer has a network or wireless connection, leave it connected.
- Remove the ink cartridges from the printer and clean the electrical contacts with a lint free cloth
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to a wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
- Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
- Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.
Ensure the printer has the latest Firmware. Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

I think that my problem is that I need a way to turn off the Direct WiFi connection as well as the non Direct WiFi connection. I have seen on a 4000 series that there are separate menu items for these and only having both turned off get rid of the WiFi signal. Is there any option in the 5275 to separately turn off the Direct WiFi connection ?
