I have a Deskjet 940C running flawlessly on an old Vista 64 PC. I am trying to find the original install dsik that came with the printer. It has a photoediting/printing program that does more of what I want than any editing program I have found. And it does it easily.
If I can get the disk, I will try to use that photoediting program aross my platform of Windows OS's.

Hi TG.
From your description, it seems like HP Photo Creations might work. With the collage prints project, you can add up to 60 photos to a page, then drag, rotate, and resize each one, as well as add borders and captions.
HP Photo Creations doesn't show the precise size or position of each photo numerically, but the print preview does show what you'll get.
If that sounds like what you want, please let us know if you need more details on arranging the photos. The links below offer tips and tutorials as well.
Hope this helps,

Make sure to click on CHANGE to select the OS you want.

Looks like every OS is listed.
Not sure if the Editing remains the same with all of them???

Hi,
Only a basic print driver is avaialble for Vista, not a Full Feature Software as the printer is very old..
No editing software is offered with your printer doftware for Vista, you may check 3rd party applications for a such..
You may try the HP Photo Creation which provide basic photo editing and organization or any 3rd party application for a such:

I was afraid that I would be told only the basic driver was available. Your reply did not resolve my problem. It did convince me that I am probably out of luck.
Thanks for the info.
So far no software I have found, Gimp, Picasa, MS Digital Image Editor, Photo Creations, NCH and others will do exactly what I want. I have make do procedures that are barely OK.
I have tried trial versions of other programs and they will not easily do what the old HP 940C photo editor software did.
None will allow me to grab a photo and position it anywhere I wish on the page and print what I see. I cannot drag any number of photos onto a page, place them where I want and then printing what I see.

Went back to Photo Creations. Now I feel like a nincompoop.
I have had Photo Creations for a long time but apparently never fully tried it.
Followed your tips and Yes, it does what I want and it works with Vista, Win 7 and Win 10 and my printers.
Sunday past, a local photographer suggestedt a third party program he has used for a few years. I have been trying it out the past few days. It too does what I want and is more versatile but more complicated than Photo Creations. It also has windows OS’s, Mac, and Linux downloads.
I can again print exactly the way I want. Thanks to all.

Glad it worked out!
HP Photo Creations has a lot of useful features behind the scenes. One of my favorites is multiselect: When you hold down your Shift key and click multiple objects, a new toolbar appears. Buttons let you align and distribute the objects, and copy the style of the first object to the rest.
Here's a quick tutorial:
www.rocketlifesupport.com/portal/kb/articles/how-do-i-use-the-multiselect
Another favorite for collages is the copy-to-background feature, which blends a copy of the selected photo into the background theme. In this image, the photo on the left page has been copied to the background and tinted.
Cheers,
